Yes, the battery boxes suck, I've been saying this since the day I got my Flux. Take a dremel with a sanding wheel and sand some material away and you'll be fine there. Sorry about the batts. Next get some velcro straps and wrap them around your battery boxes to keep them closed. Finally, if you...
This is mostly HPI's fault for advertising 3s batteries as being compatible, as well as it's main feature being standing backflips. People are going to try these, and things will break. I've been lucky so far I guess. I may just start running 2s, not much difference between the two anyway.
So...I was bored tonight and got to looking at the extra Slash body sitting next to my Flux...hmmm....with a bit more work it should look pretty neat. It may look like a 1/7th scale truck.
If you are going to be switching between nimhs and lipos get the Castle Link and you can switch it on the computer instead of fiddling with the esc, it's alot easier.
Mine is pretty loud too. I'll check the slipper. I nailed a mailbox at about 40 mph and all it did was backflip a few times and landed on it's wheels lol. This truck is a tank!
Every time I run it. It's really unsettling seeing your $150 LiPo pack sliding down the asphalt, lol. HPI attempted to remedy it by including some cheezy rubber latches, but they are useless.
Here is an easy mod using velcro straps. These will help keep the cheezy battery boxes shut while running. Total cost, a few bucks. These are velcro straps used for tidying up computer wires.

LOL....I am a bigger idiot than was previously assumed....I still have no clue what you're talking about...when it finally gets explained I'm going to feel real dumb...lol.
One other thing....what all do I need to use the Castle Link to program this? Is there a USB port under the sticker on the ESC, or do I need the adaptor that goes in the receiver? The LHS loaned me the disc, and I have a USB cable.
Thanks guys. I just went out to a construction area to do some bashing, was there for about 3 minutes and yep, you guessed. A LiPo got launched. So now I'm on way to Hobby Lobby to pick up some velcro straps. I can't believe this design made it out HPI's doors.
Hey guys, just picked up a Flux, so far so good...the thing is a tank.... fast...I've run both 4s and 6s and it's sweet....the only thing that sucks is the battery boxes....
