Hey, been a few weeks, and i have had a few serious bash time.so its time for a follow up.
#1. cost .$22.95 a set
#2 durabilty. These have held very well ,to some serious bashing.
hexes are in great shape, no missing bead lock screws. chrome has minimal flaking,so far just around axial rod...
watch any thing from harbor freight, the best advice i can give you , is have patients and watch the craiglist type ads, small metal shops are going out of bussiness left and right. due to the economy and just bad bussiness sense, the market is flooded, stay with brand name items, from...
looks great, the first pic of your throttle servo shows the wires on the outside of the tvp, just my 2 cent, but i'd def think about relocating to the inside of tvp. one snag and you lost your servo. other than that ,it looks fantastic.
Hey, as some of you know , i invested in a set of axial 40 series bead locks for my
xl project. and i decided on the moab 40 series tire.
I was pretty inpressed with the over alll appearance of the axial beadlock rim.
Great chrome finish,very sturdy rim.
But ,there was a whole lot of screws to...
yea, its the best pipe i've found so far for the 5.9, with the economy the way it is, some just have to stick with the mill they have, for $20 ,you can give the 5.9 a little life..
Hey, theres been a few questions, about the pipe i run on my savage XL
5.9.
since november of 08,I have tried three seperate pipes, buku, ofna 086
and the cen gst pipe. all three are great pipes.just not on the 5.9 mill.
I ran a conttroled test ,to the best of my ability, same outside temp 84f...
good words man,good words.
just like to add, imo the single biggest problem with the 5.9 , is the pipe.
up grade the pipe and wear it out.
i'm in the process of testing the ofna 086 pipe vs the cen gst pipe.
buku pipe offerd nothing on the 5.9 mill.
buku is a great pipe, just not on the 5.9.
thanks all, i'm extremly pleased with the truck.
mid tank mod is great. i'm lovin the flm tvp's
axial beadlocks look great, and preforming as they should.
but to be honest i think I'm most impressed with the big bore shocks
the way it handles now compaired with before. its like nite and day...
ok weeks have went by, but its a done deal.....
and to finish her off.
hpi.. big bore shocks
ofna 086 pipe
47t spur
axial 40 series bead locks
moab 40 series tire.
coming soon picco p3.
but for now...I'M BROKE.....
will note.thanks for your input..
You know, i did a lot of research, before i bought the flm set up, and i can't remember one time reading about the spur gear issue on the XL.maybe i just flat out missed it or over looked it, who knows!!!But on the bright side, this thread may, help some one...
Howdy, i just finished my flm mid tank build,up to this point everything is great.
i went to redo my mesh . and theres pretty much no room to adjust it.mill is already against tvp, as far as it will go. mesh is real tight. to the point of squilling.
I'm using the stock xl motor mount. just...
man.that question causes so much drama..LOL
You have alot of options, personly i run a ofna 086...and love it
dynamite 053,086 are both good pipes.
buku makes great pipes.just really depends on what you want to spend.
I recommend the dyn o86.but thats just my opinion..peace
yep, its a cen pipe.the 5.9 mill is pretty bad, to get power, you got to lean it out. you lean it out, it over heats.
5.9k is what it is ,a RTR mill. cen pipe allows it to be the best it can be.
better top end, at cooler temps.
yea,i know, yea i ment to do that. i always like to do thing backwards. were i have to do it over.
and yea the plate is sweet. i got it from platnuim rc . great product, super fast shipping. you should check him out,LOL.
thanks for the tip on the tank, i had no idea!!!!!
BTW all jokes aside...
Most of you know i did a mid-tank build on my xl, using only parts from my bone
yard.mostly just to see if i could, and prove to my wife, that all my junk was usefull stuff.
But my heart was with a 250cc FLM build. and it did not help having sam ride my back side(LOL).
So here it is, i still...
