I bought HPI 87025 aka the red fiberglass brakes since my brakes are incredibly soft. I'm not sure if my brakes rod is factory, but I can't seem to twist it to adjust it. Is the easiest way to replace the brakes described in thevery post below? Essentially take off the exhaust side TVP and slide out the tyranny. Seems like the easiest method, but thought I'd check with people who have some/more experience.

Ya pull off a Tvp and take the tranny right out. Much easier to work on out of the truck. If your going from ss brakes to the red fibre brakes make sure you have the kit with the larger hex/out drive as they are different sizes

Here is the kit I bought. I have a 25 and wanted to go to the dual fiberglass. I think I have what I need, but I could be mistaken.

Great. Wanted to confirm before I have my truck in pieces and have to put it back together just to take it apart again because I don't have the right parts. Not that that has ever happened lol.

While you have the brakes apart, take out the rod and the little brass bushing. (The bushing will prob fall out anyway) clean out the hole that the rod runs through with a q-tip or something just to make sure all moving parts are good and free

Good tip. I will be sure to do that.

Hopefully these brakes will last you a very long time. A Savage must always be bashed, jumped & pushed hard so no need to use the brakes at all ;);)

Right now I bash on an empty parking lot. I use the brakes to not smash full speed into one of the concrete bases for the light poles until I get better at steering.

Agreed, not much need for brakes. I do like to know they're gunna work when you need them though
