I forgot to mention the raise in compression is needed to run on 0% nitro.
The compression compensates for the lack of nitro.
Where i live nitromethane is very expensive so i'm planning to home brew my own fuel with just oil and methanol.
Which methods are available to raise compression?
I know there are extra long glow plugs but i'd rather not use them.
And removing the shims ofcourse, but what when that's not enough?
Can i shave a little from the top of the sleeve?
And how much?
I also read somewhere about...
Thanks for all the answers guys.
So breaking in first seems to be the better way.
Makes sense to use the fuel markings as guides.
But would there be any negative effects or risks doing it to a new engine?
Besides the warranty issues?
Hi all,
Would it be better to mod a brand new engine or break it in first?
I'd prefer to do it on a new engine so it can break in the way it will run.
Or is that a bad idea?
Any thoughts?
