Evening all or morning, afternoon whatever lol

New TVP's should be here anyday now, cant wait, just ordered four of these springs too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=110398335165 the stock chrome springs are a little soft and i have to wind the adjuster nut most the way down the shock body otherwise they are just too sloppy, I'm hoping these are the heavier springs if not they should look pwetty anyway lol

Thanks Soulja, really trying to get him into the hobby, hes at the age now where he needs something constructive to occupy his mind, the second build that were in the process of planning now will be for him.

Well took her out for a good run today, went to the common where theres a large gravel/sand/dusty football pitch and some nice jumps around the edges on the grass bank, met a couple of brazilian guys both with traxxas slayers, damn them lil things are rapid! very unstable tho, iv never seen anything cartwheel and flip so much lol

Anyway was a great afternoon till this happened

The tyre had pulled through the beadlock and i didnt have a 1.5 hex driver with me to refit the tyre, tut, pretty disapointing really.

Got her nice n dirty tho, IMO they don't look right clean lol

Also didnt notice til i got home id lost a cable tie from the pipe-header coupler, maybe that would explain the slight power loss towards the end before the beadlock gave out.

Yea, id read on here about the beadlocks not holding and the hex's not being that great but that was only after id ordered and payed for them, oops lol

I was just sold on the look of them and shouldve read up a bit before buying, but never mind, if it happens again il just run a lil glue around the bead and see if that holds any better.

Looks like my TVP's arrived today, at the post office at least anyway lol

*$@@%#~ CUSTOMS CHARGES!! bad word

As the parcel is in Mrs Londoners name and she is at work today she will have to pick it up for me tomorrow with her ID, damn

it feels almost like christmas time when you recieve parts in the mail doesnt it? lol

Indeed it does lol love it when postie knocks at the door with an armfull of parcels for you.

Iv been lucky so far with customs and got away without having to pay anything, my XL TVP's, axles and centre dogbones came in one order from the us and was roughly the same value as the flm tvp's but i got away with that.

ya most times here in canada i haven't paid any customs-duty tax but when i had my truggy shipped from the U.S. it costed me almost $70.00 lol

I Know, its a joke, i payed $69 something for the TVP's including shipping to the UK, now that only totals £42 something and ive been charged £13.46 VAT and customs charge! Man thats over 25% our current VAT rate is just 14 something %, i think i might file an appeal against the charge, i know its just £13 but thats alot of money to pay on just £42 worth of goods inc shipping.

dang man....hurry up and get em!!!

Tomorrow couldnt come soon enough my man, of all days they had to come on a wednesday when the Mrs is at work! Sods law lol

Roughly 12 hours from now il be posting pics of my new shiny TVP's!! not that you all havnt seen them a thousand times already on here lol

Been busy wrenching away for the past couple of hours and this is where I'm up to, gotta take a break for a cig and a coffee lol so a lil update.

the only real problem iv come up against was the IRC engine plate, its not the LCG version so doesnt have the grooves on the underside to clear the centre bone, but 5mins with a rat tail file sorted that out.

[/IMG]

Didnt know the FLM TVP's already have holes drilled for the RPM box!! one threaded one not, so thats where my RPM box now is.

Still got loads to do, linkages, tidy up all the cables, locktite screws, fit roll bar and re-mesh CB/SG etc but I'm nearly there lol

016-1.jpg

There is zero play between the white bushes at all, thought there would be a bit there, but nothing, the bushes sit in there nice n tight.

Put the wheels on and realised id put the upper arm in the wrong hole and had a bit of camber angle so put the screw through the middle hole to get it back to zero.

Thanks Soulja, i cant wait to get that new powerplant sitting in it now, i suppose il have to get an 086 for this engine or would the hpi polished pipe be sufficient, if anybody has any advice here id be gratefull.

Wish you was here in the uk mate id get you to do a body for me, thats the only area i wont be able to do and will make a proper balls up off lol

Theres a nice custom painted body goin on ebay usa for lst, gen etc but its got too expensive now, seems everybody wants it :-(

My dad came down today as i wont be seeing him for fathers day 2mo, he was so amazed by the truck we decided to go out for a little run, he killed my steering servo, WOT into a tree and the front left wheel took the hit, sent it cartwheeling across the park but that was the only damage, i took the servo apart at the park and it was just one of the thin brass looking gears stripped, so i turned it around 180 degrees to the unused good part of the gear and it seems fine.

Later on i heard the dreaded crunching sound of a diff gone, so we called it a day and got home to discover the rear ring and pinion stripped, was the original gears that came on the truck so about 10 gals on it now cant be bad i suppose, it was shimmed but maybe i didnt shim it quite right when i fitted the XL diff cups i dunno, iv already replaced the front on the first gallon of owning the truck with the machined heavy duty black ring and pinion and that one still looks brand new so il do the same with the rear.
