Well today i brang my savage into my LHS to get it tuned because it was sitting for 3-4 weeks, (waiting for my pipe from stellerrc) and I'm not the best one at tuning my engine..

Any way he got it running leaned it out took it for a run, wouldn't shift!
So he turned the sifting screw out 1 full turn, took it for a run, still didn't shift, turned it out 3/4, now we are sitting at 1 1/2 turn for the sifting screw, The screw is almost out !

But it was shifting earlier, month ago!

STILL NO SHIFT!

Can any one help me !!

P.S- only on the 5th tank of gas, running it rich !
The truck did sit for 3-4 weeks!

are your clutches good? i have seen clutches be worn and not let enough rpm turn it to shift. then again...on one of my savages.... i had the same problem...so i got ticked off and said i was gonna blow it up.......and i held it in first gear for about 40 seconds and she shiftes!! not telling you to do that at all......that was my truck...........

yea dude.....give it some time......didnt read that far down.....
the hobby man shouldn't have been turning that srew AT ALL for 5 tanks!

Get your tune set and then tighten your slipper down all the way for testing purposes. A loose slipper will shift into 2nd as soon as you hit full throttle and you'll never see a shift.

Is the truck up to operating temps, my truck has a hard time shifting when the engine is still to cold, but once its hot it shifts great...

I'm running into the same thing my 25 wont shift for nothing. yes i have a good tune, slipper is tight. what i need to no is what is the factory setting for the 2speed screw how many turns out???

about 3 weeks ago i took the trany apart and all was good..

a friend of mine has a savage with an LRP but we put a NovaRossi engine on it. well....the truck was taken apart about a month and a half ago to be rebuilr with FLM plates and everything....and when we finally ran the truck a few days ago....we had the same problem. on a couple of the savages that i've had....if they sit up for a while....they wont shift. well after running the NovaRossi about 7 tanks....she started shifting fine and he has not had a problem since then. i guess the clutch mechanism on the inside had got stiff. it's been okay every since then.......
