I had the samething happen to me when I put in my 645.Are you using the stock radio? If you are all you have to do is filp the servo switch on you radio to the up position. This is on the left side of your radio beside the steering wheel when you are looking at it.This should take care of your probblem.

same thing. Most TX's have some sort of Norm/rev function so you can change the servo throws, so when you upgrade a servo or radio system, that setting sometimes needs to be adjusted.

do you like this servo i am thinking of picking one up i am pretty sure i broke mine the thing clicks when i turn

thanks Dave

I have had mine for over year and haven't had any trouble with mine..Not a bad upgrade for the price..

i have this servo as steer in my savy & HF. thought it was a 'good servo for price' and it is, but after runnin it for a while, just not enough torque or speed to be what id consider a "good" servo to steer a savage. i say if your current servo is not broken, then wait & save few more bucks till you can afford a better servo.

saving up for a better/stronger one now.

i am pretty sure i broke the stock one it clicks when trying to turn and feels loose I just bought the hitec 645 and bearings hope they come in the mail soon what servo are you saving for that is better

after research (basically askin peeps with experience using different servos) any of the usual brands with a minimu 200oz/.15

I use the 645 for steering and the 545 for throttle, no complaints. Sure there are stronger ones but for a basher these will work fine. Now all I need is the 3PM to compliment my servo's!

ya thats pretty much what i did. bought the 645mg to replace damaged steer servo, then 3pm now upgrade to a Digital servo with more power to run in PPS mode with digital 3PM

Welcome Dave. The 3PM is a Futaba 2.4ghz radio system, it is the one of the most popular upgrades for the Savage. As far as PPS mode, I believe this activates a fail safe (in case your truck either goes beyond the radio range, or your battery dies) the throttle servo goes back to neutral. That can really save your truck. You can only run in PPS if you have digital servos otherwise you will fry your analog servos. But if you don't have digital servos but still want to run the 3PM you can run it on the other mode (not sure what the code is). Hope this helps.

Just put in my hitec 645 and steering bearings it was pretty easy will fire it up soon to see how big of a diff it made thanks everyone for your help

Finally ran a tank with the steering bearing upgrade and a new hitec 645 steering servo and it was sweet it turned so nice really fast and smooth. I am really happy i did this upgrade. Thanks everyone for your help
