pullstart flywheel

i have a pico pull start and wanted to know what flywheel to use, i was thinking about the 3 shoe 34mm that with aluminum shoes.

hey malkalm, don't have your answer bro, but this is a good question cuz it seems that many are buying up the piccos lately so I'm sure others will have the same question.

this is another way of fine-tuning the engine, just as is the shoes, the springs, soforth...

Flywheel = lighter means less torque, but more HP = less rotating mass
A low-mass flywheel will allow the engine to be more agile in that it can accelerate and decelerate more quickly.
A heavy flywheel causes the engine to lose some responsiveness but makes your idle more reliable because of the increased momentum. A heavy flywheel will also make the vehicle less eratic while accelerating and easier to drive. Some flywheel even have fins (vents) on them which serve 2 purposes.
1. its a fan, which cools things off
2. it also removes material, which = less mass.


Shoes = How well they bite the clutchbell. There is also the mass which affects when it engages.

Springs = When the shoes will engage on the clutchbell.

Clutchbell = Gear ratio

Your going to want a 3 shoe clutch. If its going back onto your savage you can just use the stock Flywheel and stuff. Recommended to get aluminum shoes though and more than likely will want to go to a higher # CB.

i was look at that and i thought it was a good option. but i bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/SAVAGE-3pc-Alum...ol_Parts_Accessories?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116s. that clutch i used for 3 tanks, breakin only. and it looks fried. the spings are lose, one shoe has at lest 10mm gap. i only got the truck up to 15 mph. i am never going to buy integy. has anyone tried the mip style clutch, it works very nice in my ntc3. i don't mind paying a little money for a good clutch. i am new to the savage world. i am build this truck from the ground up.
