to save you some time and money (i was the ginny pig for this) DO NOT buy the cen diffs with the metal case. they are totaly different then the ones needed. they use larger bearings, a different ring gear, and the inner gears are not held in by pins there held in by e-clips.

DO NOT GET THIS ONE

this is what the first one looks like inside (THE WRONG ONE)

you can see the larger bearings. the inner race is a larger size so you can not use the hpi bearing.

Bad, can you fix the link that came up as a link & not a pic? just clicked on it & that is the 1 that really shows the difference between the 2.

sorry you got a raw deal cuz the metal 1 was listed as a cen genesis/7.7, etc, but thanks for posting & helping out the next guy :resp:

The reason I thought there were the same is because I have bid on the metal cased one before but when I got them they were the plastic one.

well its definately good to know for those about to do the cen diff mod so thanks for the heads up!!

I'm kinda new so what is so good about the cen diff mod? and does everything bolt right in? i didnt see a place for shock towers or the skid plates.cornfused
