How Does Mt Trans Shift?

I Bought A Used Savage 21, And I'm New To The Hobby. And I Drove It A Couple Times But I Never Hear It Shift.. Whats The Deal?? How Does It Shift?? Is A Servo Hooked To A Linkeage Somewhere That I Haven't Found??

It uses a type of i guess clutch system inside the tranny. When RPMs get high enough it locks X gear to make the truck shift.

Is There A Way To Adjust It ? I've Drove It As Fast As I Can To See If It Would Go But Nothing Happens! It Only Gets Up To About 25mph

Be sure engine is in tune before messing with shift points.

just wanted to say welcome to the forum GOT NITRO and I'm in agreement with everyone above get it tuned right then see if it shifts as these nitro engines depend on rpm's to shift so if its not hitting a high enough rpm it doesnt shift so do that and let us all know what happens and we'll be here if u need more help, so again welcome to the hpisf family!!!!

HEY I'm BACK WITH ANOTHER PROBLEM!! I GOT INTO THE TRANS BUT I CANT FIND THE ADJUSTMENT KEY!! IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET IT ALIGNED WITH TAKING OUT THE TRANS AND TEARING IT APART??:stickspank:

Keep rotating the spur gear, it may take a few revolutions of the second gear sprocket for the hole to becopme apparent. ;-)

Because second gear is not engaged you will see the clutch through the hole, as it's spinning faster than the sprocket (the same speed as first gear) keep turning till the hole in the sprocket and the adjustment hole line up, it might take 5-10 turns.
