what hop ups have you bought that have turned out to be the most dissapointing ? what failed dismally after promising soo much? what did you buy coz it looked soo good yet also failed terribly ?

for me was a purple cflywheel and ally clutch shoes from gpm. melted the shoes and broke the springs within hours. worst $25 bucks yet.. lol

also I think the roll cage i bought was a lemon. 3mm rolled steel.. now has more bends in it than straights. another wasted $60

then there was the purple annodized steerting posts and steering arm set from gpm that looked cool until i realised it didnt have a servo saver... afetr installing it and deciding to give it a go.. ruining my hit tec mg645 within minuites.. another waste of both $30 for steering set and $65 for a new servo...

anyone else have a few lemons they wanna own up too ?

well I would have to say the HPI DUAL DISK BRAKES!! I used them and then they worked great did stoppies and all but it deformed the disk. I made a tread of it here somewhere, 1 side was about the thickness or a quarter thicker. Worst $18 bucks.

I agree with parker about the dule disk brakes mine ruined my bevel gears also stripped out my tranny case used them for like 4 runs then switched back to stock all goood now

Rc raven roll cage still have it never used it lmao, hot bodys threaded shocks pure junk, integraty steering plate soft as butter, jr sport mg servo ran it 3 times not even bashing, just running on the street, just died for no reason.

Just about anything that says Integy on it is a disappointment

The HPI dual disk brakes work well for me, but I don't use the brakes very much LOL

probably the proline 23mm hex hubs. never broke or anything, just really hard to remove. end up feeling like the knuckle arm will snap if i pull any harder!

Lunsford ( Turnbuckles )

Hardcore Racing ( Titanium products )

Start w/ Lunsford. The buckle itself has held up fine BUT the titanium ball studs that holds the buckle in place snap right at the ball end where it meets the threaded shaft. To date broke 3 still use the setup. The only titanium stuff I use now is a High polished secondary skid plates. Heavy duty light weight, nothing looks as cool as polished titanium. Guy does an excellent job. Site F4I

HCR - the only thing I like from them is the titanium engine plate. It's the only item that hasn't screwed up on me so far. Super expensive and IMO a true money pit. TVP's , great design light weight but hit almost anything and those TVP's are heading for the trash can. The old saying ( I should listen more to it ) Sometimes more isn't necessarily better. I use to have 2 complete setups for my Savages. Saying how much I have dumped into all this. Hard lesson

i'd have to say the worst hop up was a venom speed meter, total waste of money, looks great and it give you bragging rights, but it doesn't work for ****, i had to set the whole thing up several times before it would even come close to showing the correct speed. Most of the time it was telling me my savvy xss was doing over 250 mph, utter toss!

And i agree with the GPM stuff, its all ****e. and gpm stuff i had either didn't fit right or broke/bent on the first run.

I had them on a revo and they were very tight, had to pry them off. I forgot about these they do suck. You had to be careful when you tighten them, if you got them tight it would snap the hex pin.
:hammerpoke:
use your head and drill them out a bit

I personaly havn't had any issues with the dual brakes they work great for me. worst thing's gpms fuel tank guard never could get it to stay on and also gpm shocks are garbage. also ive never had any problems with integy id say that they make decent products.

Were they tight on the stub axle?

nah, i put them on and i can get them off, but if i put my wheels on then run for a bit i cant get the damn things off, they just get stuck. I think i might try to widen them slighly to make them looser.

As for gpm and integy parts, i agree they are below the standard of other parts, but if you compare the prices your paying for lesser parts. I myself had gpm alloy knuckle arms and chubs on my savvy and they worked fine, no breaks bends or anything. you get what you pay for though. I did have integy piggy back shocks aswell. they leaked quite a bit and werent that great. managed to punt them onto someone else though! :) :) :)

TO ALLL PROLINE 23MM users......Proline had tolerance issues a while back when they first started to make the hubs....if u call them they should send u a new set of work something out for u....mine were stuck on for a couple months b4 1 of the nuts backed off and the wheel came off...Forcing me to remove the other 3 to find very disturbing things....

steel spur

I bought a steel spur gear ,didnt like the pad set up first thing, and i didnt get a hardened clutch bell, stripped the bell teeth rite off, went back the stock>

Robinson racing SPur gear and clutchbell..
well the clutchbell is still ok i guess.. spur gear wobbled from day 1 cause of a bad machining i guess and now it ahs 3 chipped teeth.

going back to stock.

HPI dual disk brakes - Did not work as well as the stock brake.

ANYTHING HPI HD (Heavy Duty) is crap! I got HPI HD outdrive cups for the drivetrain and they actually wore out faster than the standard ones! Worthless!

Engine Buff from here:

Total waste of money! I do not know who they are paying to say all that great stuff about this product, but IT IS TOTALLY FALSE! It did NOTHING!

umm ok First of all...HD outdrives are WAY better than stockers....i dunno how u could possibly claim that......second of all...."UNBELIVABLE RC"...how could u possibly belive it would work...MG did u not read the Product reviews....sheesh :eyecrazy:

Hahaha Unbelievable RC. You can't believe that they have friggin' E-NOS!!! Electric NOS c'mon. But as you said nick, good for a laugh.

-Josh-

I have all hd stuff all around not even a bit of where on them at all after 2 gallons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the HPI dual disk brakes are the best i can say stock just arent good at all it doesnt slow me down (but who needs to slow down anyways haha)

worst parts i ever got....Adj upper arms they all broke on me one at a time and I'm talking about the adjustable part which is made out of metal...huh??...yea thats what i said

The unbelievable RC reference was just a joke.
But I was serious about the dual brakes and HD outdrives. This is just my own opinion, but I found that the stock brakes worked fine, and the dual ones wer overly complicated and tended to lock up - which is not desirable. The stock ones work just fine and are easier to tune for personal preferance.
The HD stuff is chrome plated. That is the only difference I can find from the standard parts. They did not outlast or improve anything in my experience. It seemed that the chrome actually made them more vulnerable to wearing out. I wish now that I had kept them so that I could post pics, but the slots for the dogbones were ovalled out terribly and I used stock outdrives ever since.

Yea I have snapped every dogbong that was stock, With the hd ones I have yet HAS ANYONE SNAPPED A HD DOGBONE just wondering ???

snappped about a dozen regular and HD bones....the HD's snap...the stockers bend...then snap.....so imo stock bones are better....but the outdrives are totally the opposite.....HD's are MUCH better....i dunno how this guy thinks they aren't....

I have yet to break one time will tell I gess That weird b/c all my stock dogbones have snapped (if there was anything that could break I new u would have broke it)
