Savage always wants to tip!

Anyone have any suggestions to keep my new Savage 4.6 grounded on turns? I'm finding that it always wants to go over. I've been discussing a few options with xsavage3148 like DirtBonz and removing spacers from all four inner shocks. DirtBonz may help on dirt but what about street driving as well. Any ideas? cornfused

the lower you can get the truck the less it will tip

I had a street savy with a four shock setup that you could turn at full tilt no problems

cut 8 1" long peices of fuel tubbing.
take all ur shocks and drain the oil out
slide the fuel tubbing onto the piston of the shock
reoil ( i used 25 wt)
and ur savvy will look more like a truggy
this improves handling so much however say good by to wheelies

I'm running this on my savvy right now yes there is no wheelies however with the proper ratio there will be (possibly I'm not 100% sure) I'm running 18/49 right now so i don't have the wheelie power

remove your shock spacers and move your shocks all the way in to the last hole on the shock tower this will inprove the handling alot better.

sorry also if you can by the adjustable upper a-arms and adjust them in as far as you can this was the best upgrade on handling i have done yet

Like crash said and you can make the truck a little wider by using offset rims.

The fuel tubing definitely works. take a spacer out on each corner helps too if you don't want to do the fuel tubing. offset wheels helped a lot too. i ran mine for the first time today.

I have the fuel tubing mod on mine and it works a treat, mine still does wheelies but not as much as it used to. mine still tips over every now and then on the road. i used 30wt oil in mine.
Only took about an hour to do and its an awesome mod.

Thanks to all for the quick responses.:resp:I took the spacers out from the inner shocks and I already noticed a difference. I may also do the adjustable A arms suggested by racecort99. The fuel tubing mod looks like what most are recommending so that may be the next thing I do. Otherwise, I may go for offsets.

Try out the removed spring clips and see how it is. the offset wheels with my dirt bonz made a world of a difference with my truck

Eat, rc ch resurrected this thread today & your last post was in Aug, just wondering how you made out with the 'tips?' i got the maximizer offsets & flm ext lcg & it is 1000% more stable than before (still have stocker shocks & clips)

Thanks for asking frddyj. I actually put some ProLine Velocity 1/2 offset's on with some DirtBonz. Gave me the additional width I was looking for and has kept it grounded. Didn't change the stock shocks.

I have tried many times to get my stock shocks from leaking at the cap and shaft seals. these have been doing this since new. Any suggestions?

me and my friend both savage 4.6 one in blue and one red mine is red 😀
i want to make my savage as high as i can get it any tips?
i don't care about handling or it doing wheelies every were i just want to be able to run over everything like a reall monster truck 😀

i had a set on my maxx, they can cause some knuckle probs. and i needed to file down my drive shafts for them to fit. but i never once flipped the truck. it got to be such a good handeling truck i wasn't having any fun with it. went back to stock and put proline offsets on it. not to mention the truck wouldn't fit in the box anymore and i had to take off the tires for it to fit, it was wider than it was long.
