I'm looking to find out how I should go about hopping up my chassis. What parts would be good to replace with graphite? What parts should be aluminum and what should I keep plastic? I'm mostly a basher but I would like recommendations for both.

either path is good. i prefer aluminum, just because i haven't had any experience with CF. larsen should be piping in here soon with his CF parts, but the flm lcg ext tvp's are what i have and i like them. good stability, but they are almost, if not, 2 times heavier than stock. i think my savvy weighs in between 15-18lbs, with golaith tires. i would keep the stock plastic shocks, or get the big bores when they come out, or the lst2 shock upgrade. leave the control arms plastic, to allow the flexing in accidents instead of bending. anything else can be turned to aluminum or CF if you want to. its all preference.

I really like my CF chassis's (PlatinumRCProducts) as they are light and vary strong. I personally would leave the arms plastic inless you want to go flextec, another part to stay away from aluminum from is the Shock towers as some have bent them but some love them as well. Otherwise everything else is a free for all and can go anyway you want it.

Dread the FLM extendeds LCG TVP's are 129 grams each, the stock X TVP's are 79 Each and my Extended LCG TVP's are 56 grams each just so you know the weight differences. So for the set you would have to double these numbers.

If your looking for lighter plastic is about as light as your going to find as its just a touch lighter than CF.

There are some chassis that are longer than others which aid in control and stability. Some chassis are LCG (Low Center of Gravity which aids quite a bit in stability. For instance my extended LCG chassis is 1.5" extended tord the rear of the truck and is about 12MM LCG that that of the savage X in stock forum and about 22MM LCG than the old 21/25 savage. I also have a Standard length LCG chassis as well. Lots of people on there will say to go extended including my self as I currently run 2 savages both with extended chassis. The Extended chassis's in most cases will come with a longer rear dog bone (drive shaft) as the stock one wont fit any more. There are different lengths of extended chassis which vary some from brand to brand.

The Lower Center of Gravity you go the less it will roll. Some ofther things that help with this are widening the truck out either by getting offset wheels such as the Maximizer 1/2" Offsets or to get wider A-arms such as the FLM widening kit.

will my savage 25 radio tray and transmission bolt into the savage x chassis plates? I want to try the chassis plates and I'm not sure if it will be a bolt on and go thing.

I have the FLMs on one truck and New Era models TVPs on the other and they are both very well made.
I will be getting a set of carbon fiber ones soon but not for bashing.
