Hello men,
I have a two speed transmission, today while enjoying some kick butt bashn

my savy started going into neutral!

I sprayed some wd 40 into the transmission case and drained it out and ran it again. It seemed a little better at first and then it slipped into neutral again.

this is a first for me.


any insight?

So you don't have reverse?

Sounds like your clutches are stuck inside the tranny. Stuck close that is, maybe try getting it to shift sooner?
 
If I knew, I'd certainly tell ya crash, though, check the spur gear? Check for a stripped gear too, I've seen that in T-Maxx 2 speeds
 
no reverse.

I'm going to open it up and inspect before it really breaks.

Ok crash,

I would check the gears but it sounds like they are fine. If you have an extra set of the clutches that are new or ones that you are sure they work try them. When I had the problem I was racing and came out the corner, let off completely then nailed it, it didn't move at all, clutches were stuck closed, never could get them to open back up
 
there is a one way in it for sure

what do you think is happenning Piney

the one way is slipping ?

it sounded really bad a few times like two gears grinding

so I wonder is there any way these transmissions can be between first
and second gear?

MMM maybe 25 has it nailed more-I would think if the one way is slipping it would do what you described but I haven't had this problem before either so let us know what you find.

besides the clutch with the finger on it , where is the other clutch
in the trans. ?

or are you suggesting my clutch on the engine is locking up?
 
i am thinking one way as well.......if it were the second gear clutches it would either be stuck in second or it would not shift..... that one way inside the tranny is what disengages first when it shifts into second and drives it when it is in first

woke up early and tore the transmission out of the savy for inspection

the oneway bearing was locked up on the shaft, apparently the
problem

I did have an old one that I put on and all is well now

something else weird was the small pin that the finger pivots on was
coming out of clutch assembly.

This has happen to me before, the pin worked its way out and eventually
gauged the inside case of transmission then locking up.
