OK guys, bearings on my diffs are shot. The size on the bearings are 10x16x5mm. Looking to replace but want to upgrade to better bearings. Anyone know of better bearings and where I might order them from. Thanks

Yeah I found the bearing closest to that stupid exhaust port tends to go first. That was the crippling problem I had that caused me to dismantle my savage. Luckily I caught it before it destroyed my diff. I bought a full set of bearings from full force rc. Don't know what the quality is like though.

I was going to get those but when I checked they didn't have them in stock. Since I didn't think they were going to restock I bought the ffrc ones. I will see how the go. I have heard people say good things about the ffrc ones as well but who knows. I got some mini t bits while i was at it though.

I bought the kits while it said out of stock. They were missing the diff bearings. They sent the rest of the kit and then I got the diff bearings 3 days later. The whole time they emailed me letting me know everything. Smf was one of the best places to buy from period, I is sad to see them go.

Acer bearings are a cheaper alternative to Bocas. They only downside that I know of the ceramics is the price. I mean your spending around 100+ dollars for bearings alone.

I saw this kit but It looks like it doesn't have the diff bearings included, there are 6 berings in the diff, correct?

John

There are two 8x16x5mm bearings on each pinion gear and two 10x16x5mm bearings on each diff cup assembly, so four bearings per diff.

We've still got a few SMF Savage Bearings Kits in stock at the SMF Store and we sell individual bearings as well. Our bearings come from Avid RC and Panther Racing, and in reality, probably come from the same place of manufacture!

I really like the Boco bearings. I can also get them from my LHS. I think he only charges me like .95 cents each or less. Give him a shot its hobbieguyrc.com Rod. Tell him Jason sent you. He has boca metal sealed bearings and rubber sealled barings I would go with the rubber sealed bearing or get the Acers from SMF as they are another great HS. I have purchased a quite a bit from them.

The HPI bearings are a very low quality bearing.

Cool larsen, actually looking to replace alot of the bearings on my savage. Just to keep it in check.

I used ceramic bearings on my diffs once. They lasted a month I think it was before the races separated and the bearings disintegrated.
