Ok I went through the stock steering servo in about half a gallon of fuel so I get a new one, a Hobbico CS-70........it worked for about 5 gallons and now its out, lasted about a year.

I need a servo that is good and will last!

I don't want to spend $100 for a servo right now but if I have to I quess I will.

Thanks.

Tire Setup:

40 series wabash rims
panther pythong tires

i have the hitec 645mg on the way! its suitable for a savage! it has 106oz with 4.8v and 133oz with 6.0v and to compare the stock steering servo is 90 oz max so its a suitable upgrade! and its $36.00 dollars here in canada!

hey guys , only input I have is that I just tore up the gears in my hitec 645mg.

the gears are metal, brass and aluminum for what I could see when I opened it up.

I didnt do any chemistry make up testing on these metals I am saying in my opinion they looked like brass and aluminum gears. Regardless they only lasted about 2 gallons. And I was running dirt bonz.

doobee get on this, have your people get to the bottem of this STAT. operation mg14 classified.......................................crash out

lol i didnt know people were having problems with that particular servo hmmmmmmmmm:dunno:

OK... what's the dealio with my favorite $30 Metal geared , high torque, 133 oz. Servo?...Haaah?lol

Did yours take a crap, Crash?.... I guess that means mine is due any time along with others that I know of.

I really don't know what to say other than "BUMMER DUDE!" I hope the early retirement servo bus misses
my house and loses my address. Try a warranty return, Yes?

Maybe you just got a wierd one or something...
My servo is still behaving like it was the day I bought it and I don't see any issues ahead for it either.

For the money, It's a great buy IMO. But if it failed on me as like your servo has,... I guess I might
consider getting a bigger and better rated servo just for GP.

On the other hand,...Considering that I have about 5 1/2 gals on the servo now, and then remembering
all the hits it sustained over it's life with me, I would probably just replace it with another HS645MG.

This is because it has been very cost effective and has stood up to alot of abuse, thus far.

It's your choice my friend.
I will say this,... I do thing your servo's service life was premature and hopefully a rare occurance...

Hey Crash... Do you have any idea's to the cause of failure?...

Hey shaun... I don't know what you mean by "people"... As in, more than one?

Crash is the first one to say he's got a dud on his hands,.. as far as I know.

Speaking of which, Crash might be able to return the servo for warranty replacement if he calls their tech support.

Everyone I know that uses them say their great and reliable for what they are.

Just my two cents, bud

for the price you can not beat this servo. I think what happen was my front dogbones binded up during bashing and that lockedup front end.

I like this servo, my comment was directed towards the so called metal gears inside. my watch has heavier metal gears in it.

again its the best for the 32 bucks..............

oh ok thanks! no i hadnt heard of anyone having problems till now thats why i ordered one lol, but thanks for clarifying that !

JR has a servo that puts out over 300 oz at 6v. i forget what its called though!

That is the servo I am thinking of getting. But its digital and I don't have a digital radio............🙁

The one I am thinking of getting actually has 403 oz of torque.

Yep Thats The One I Saw A While Back!! But I Figured It Would Probabally Suck My Hump Pack Dry Faster With That Much Torque And I've Heard You don't Need That Strong Of A Servo Unless Maybe You Have Lots Of "bling Bling" On Your Truck And It Weighs 20 Pounds!! Lol

I Was Looking At Futaba Servos At First Cuz Futaba Apparently Makes The Stock Radios For Hpi But There To Expensive!!!! And Alot Of People Are Using The 645mg So I'm Gonna Try It And See!!
