So my bud took apart his 4.6 engine and the button is stuck to the block. I can't fine the part number for a new button and any suggestions to take that thing off would be great. I told him to put some heat to it since he is rebuilding the top end anyway.

well, there should be a gap between the buttonhead and the top of the case...a small flathead screwdriver works wonders in this case...

Try some Nitro cleanner or carb cleaner to loosen the grip of the button.
Try a wooden spoon to pry it loose.
WD40 may also work to loosen the baked on fuel residues.

Where's the documentation that came with the engine and truck?

I got one with my SS kit.

Do you think you can find it?

Try HPI's site.

Do a google search.

I'm looking at the blow up in the engine manual. There no servicable button.
Move on to next step, 4x4.(must be built into heat sink)

so does that mean by a new head and the button comes with it? I thought he told me the button was frozen to the block.

that is what my buddy told me not someone on the forum, sorry for the confusion. If the button and head are one piece how can they come apart?

Sorry I couldn't see the button in the blow up, 4x4
It doesn't really show that part of the assembly in the engine doc.
It also appears that they'er using a NS 25 for the example.

nahh Doob...the Nitrostar .25 has no radial cuts in the heatsink...plus it has raised lettering on the block that says .25 and HPI...as seen here:
