Diff Fluid???????

I have heard conflicting stories on running fluid in the diffs.......HPI says to use grease, but some guys say to use fluid. What should I use ? I will be replacing my old diffs tonight and wanted to make sure I did it right.

So.........Fluid ? No Fluid ? If so what kind ?

hey red, the fluid theyr talk n about goes inside diff hub, grease goes on pinion gear.

Thats what i figured, but HPI said grease in the hub which I thought was odd.
Anyways.....What kind of fluid shoud I use ?

A safe bet is 50K or 100K in both diffs. As you learn what you like then start mixing and using different weights. For starters keep it simple. My personal recommendation, use 50K for both diffs.

depending whether bashing or racing, my racer I use 10,000 front and 5,000 rear. Puts more power to the front wheels, corners great and pulls hard out of the corner and very controlable. In my basher I use 30,000 front and 50,000 rear. More power to the rear wheels, easier to do donuts. more fun to drive
