Hi all!

I've been running the proline trencher 3.8's for about a year now. Yesterday I noticed a crap tonne of wheel wobble on the rear left - the others too but no where near as bad. I was running it pretty hard even after noticing this and completely blew my rear diff housing! The 2 pinion bearings exploded - it was quite dramatic :p

Anyway! I've fixed the diff and had it running with no wheels on to make sure everything was still true and not bent. The wheels are completely rotten! They wobble in sorts of directions, not just the tyres but the rims too.

I see proline have a new pro-lock series which look interesting, just wondering if anyone has any experience with these or something similar. Also any other recommendation of wheels and/or tyres? I like the 3.8's but I think the trenchers were a bit "much", they are very heavy! How are the dirt bonz from hpi??

TIA!!!

Be sure to look at your dog bones from your diff to your wheel hubs, a bent end on your dog bone will make your wheels wobble too. Experienced this after a nasty cartwheel crash.

I have, done all the inspections on my truck to make sure. I mounted the wheels to a jig I made and they are definitely not happy any more

@Biddie_fiddler - I run Maximizer RC Products 3.2 Beadlocks , Unfortunately they seem to have gone O O B ( luckily I have several spares ) with either HPI GT tires or Panther Paddles. Really like these wheels , have never failed and NO glue.

You should look through "Wheels & Tires " In HPI Savage Parts on this forum , lots of different opinions -

I run & like the dirt bonz- they are a 3.2 tire and give my savy xl a nice looking stance.
