Just ran across these 17mm adapters for a savage on HPI's site:

Traxxas does that on the revo and no matter how hard you try, they egg out where the threads rub the inside of the hub. However, they do have the nut on there, so that may help with the wear issue some.
On my revo's, I'm actually using HPI's old e-savage 17mm hexes on one and I cut off the "shaft" part of the traxxas hub just to use the hex with the current savage 5mm x 17mm flange nut, which works even better since the old e-savage 17mm hex's are a unicorn to find anymore.
