HS-965MG for throttle/brake?

The Hitec HS-965MG would make for an okay brake/throttle servo but for a few bucks more you could get a Savox 1258 that's stronger, titanium gears and twice as fast.

The Futaba S3305 only has 124oz torque and speed of .20 which is not only much lower specs than the Savox but still weaker and slower than the Hitec. Keep that in mind.

Thanks for the replies but I think I've narrowed down my search. I put a Hitec 7955TG in for my steering and works great and now want to replace the throttle/brake servo. I called Hitec and they say use another 7955. I've read that speed is a factor for the throttle/brake but read for braking you want torque...suggestions?

You don't want the weakest servo for throttle and brake but a 333 oz torque servo for throttle and brake is over kill really. You could get a Savox 1258 for the throttle / brake servo or what others have done is move the stock steering servo back to the throttle/brake servo.

Thanks for the reply WoodiE...I greatly appreciate the reply. I definitely see your point on the torque. The nice thing is I am able to get one of 2 servos at a highly discounted price. I heard the Savox servos use more power then Hitec so that's why I went with the 7955TG for the steering and works great. Moving the steering to the throttle is an awesome idea. Do you by chance know the specs on the SF-1 and SF-2? I was just curious but have not found any yet.
Thanks again for the info 🙂

The HPI SF-1 servo has 40oz of torque at 6 volts and the HPI SF-2 servo has 90oz of torque at 6 volts.

So while the Hitec 7955TG would be a huge overkill, if you're getting two for a huge discount then go ahead.
Awesome! Thanks again for the assistance WoodiE 🙂

Lol... :woot: outstanding advise...made sure of that when I replaced the steering servo.
