Bulletproof diffs seem to be a must . I have a savage Xl and am beefing it up .
My question is when I get these is there anything else I should upgrade with it . I'm looking at GH aluminum bulks .but I just seen the composite gearbox/bulkhead from hpi part #102272
I see it's just the gears for the diffs.

I also see on eBay they have chopped bulletproof flux differentials for $50

IMO i would stick to the composite bulkhead from HPI. I have heard ppl complaining about stripping screws wwith the GH ones. Alos the composite ones will still give a bit of flex.

Over here in aus, my lhs wants $54 just for the composite bulkhead case, so I did what your saying and got mine from ebay.
Cant beat 2 complete diff, towers, some braces, bulkheads ect for $50 + postage and kept the towers and stuff for spares 🙂

I wouldnt call them a "must" but a lot are running them and like them. i was just telling b/r i still have the stock flux diffs in my flux and the b.p. on my bench caz its hard to get motivated to replace a part that is in perfect working order.

i think they haven't stripped caz of my GH bulks.

i will agree that you prolly don't "need" alloy bulks in most cases as the composite are gonna be strong enough for most applications.

i haven't had the screw-stripping issue on my GH & you don't want any flex in a gearbox of any kind. Flex will disrupt the precise mesh of your gears and will usually result in failure.

sweet deal, gotta love the bay batman

Tell you the truth i'm still running the stock diffs that came in my savage x f4.1 from 3 years ago..
Not sure if there is any oil in them, i should actually check them LOL

I Thought the flux came with bp diffs stock! I went to bps in my xl. They have helped, My bearing are what i distroy the most!

If you guys are using stock diffs still and haven't opened them then you SHOULD have grease in them.

Or at least hope it still has some grease in it! When I got my flux I am pretty sure it was the old style diffs not the bp. Looking to upgrade soon anyway!
