Today while bashing around with my friend, a cop came by and asked us if we wanted to see he fast the cars went. Well on 2s with stock gearing and running mashers (not the best for speed runs) I was clocked at 37 MPH. With 3s and not really able to do full throttle I got up to 51mph. So I am happy, I may look into some low profile tires that will help me to see how fast I can really go.

no he does not, he told us about him doing the same thing with some rc boats on a lake and a few hitting 55mph on the water.

if your after more top speed youd act want larger diameter tires (also will make the motor/esc work harder). smaller diam will rob top speed.

ballooning also increases top speed - too bad it makes the truck uncontrollable.

HPI recommends Phlatline tires to obtain their 62mph spped, any one use them and do they help to keep the truck under control at high speeds? And i was using 6s i was using 2 4000mah 3s 50c packs.

Hypnotiq runs them, you could ask his opinion. I would think that those wheels wouldn't balloon much. If your tire balloons smoothly without getting too out of balance it can add to your overall gear ratio (top speed). For example, my Terra-Pins ballon much more smoothly than my Goliaths so I get a nicer top end speed out of them even though they're very close in diameter when they are just sitting there.

Word! I do run the phatlines and i will say this.. They grip in warm weather.. if you have a touch of cold on your gonna drift all over. i use these on my onroad nitro and love them.. You need that ballooning IMO to get those top speeds. You won't see the same speeds with anything else but stockers IMO.
