I have a 15 tooth hardened clutch bell, and am getting a steel spur. The final drive ratio would be 2.86 (which I think is good compared to 2.76 : 1, the stock final drive ratio) Could I mesh these two if I were to egg out my engine plate mesh adjustments?

Or should I get the RR spur/ clutch bell combo?

the 2.76 would give more top end then the 2.86

Yep, Hpi doesn't make a 42 spur to give me the 2.8 that I want. I don't think it is going to make too much of a difference, will it?

I would say just get a bigger cb, I keep all sizes.

I like a mid range speed, So I can climb hills but at the same time have a good top end. I am running the hpi polished pipe.

i say 16/47 or 17/49. that will keep you in the powerband when climbing hills. the stock savage x rtr with the plastic pipe and stock tires is 17/47....so i say go one lower...because the F motors are good performers with that pipe...you just need a little more on the low-mid side. if you want a little more....get an XL tranny. they have a lower first gear and the higher third.
