Help me diagnoise this issue...

Was ripping around the parking lot.. everything was going PERFECT. Towards the end i was drifting around this turn and side swiped this curb. Hit it hard enough i knocked the rear turnbuckle out. After about 4 passes at WOT i started the notice the rear wasn't gripping.. it was only pulling from the front. I picked it up off the ground and hit the throttle only the fronts turned. No rear spin at all. I opened the rear diffs and i honestly see nothing wrong. What else could stop these from spinning in the rear only?

The drive cup set pin for the pinion could be gone or the dog bone could missing.

the pin at the axle to the wheel nut could also be broke or you sheared off a grub screw

make sure the set screw to the break hub and to the rear is there and tight . also make sure you didnt blow anything else on the rear driveline

Gonna check that out in a minute men..thanks.. Dog bones are there.. first thing i checked for. Will check the grub screws.

check the grub screw up at the brake hub and back at the diff too

yep after all that check the drive cup pins in the diffs

Brake cup grub screw.. It was GONE!
Got a new bag full. LOL. Good as new

New question... What diff oil should I run for ON ROAD?

i bet when the screw fell out it really had no brakes. i had the same problem

Wont matter as much as on the dirt, but i vote 10k <just caz thats whats in my nitro sav>

+1 on the 10K - I have 30k in my basher and 10k in my other one - the other one is great in the parking lot, lot better traction, etc.

I would go thicker in the diffs, driving on-road has more of a tendency to lift the tires, if the fluid is light the diffs will unload too easy. I'd go 30 rear 50 front for weight.
