Not thrilled with the machining on these. I had to grind down both ends of the left side, and adjust the left rear joint-post screw and stud holes to get them to fit, and one of the radio box screw holes wasn't quite all the way through.
Now, for the reasons I'm still recommending these for everybody except the shelf queens:
They're still the same 6061-T6 aluminum as the standard-length TCS TVPs, so they're still extraordinarily tough.
They use a stock XL rear dogbone, no aftermarket or hard to find dogbones needed.
They still have the same counter-bored hardware locations to allow the use of all stock screws.
They have built-in screw locations to install the TCS optional ESC mount, which moves the ESC off of the top of the left TVP and down behind the motor between the TVPs.
The plate itself is made of Delrin, sits on two HPI aluminum crossbraces, and has a mounting locations for the power switch on the right side. It's the cleanest looking relocation of the ESC that I've seen yet, although the ESC/receiver wire does have to be rerouted or extended.
After a day of light track bashing, I can say that it's a totally different truck. All the annoying habits are gone, like swapping ends at the slightest provocation, dropping the tail in jumps, and cartwheeling long distances on bad landings. Cornering is now stable and predictable, and the tail stays tucked. A little throttle gave me a nice controllable oversteer to drift through tight corners. In the air, the truck stays flat with minimal corrections, but still responds instantly to throttle input. And when I do hit that bad landing, the truck settles down quickly instead of cartwheeling 50 feet down the track.
Here's the links for everything needed for the full conversion, including ESC plate:
