So I got a $10 off coupon in the mail from maxamps and decided to use it to order a 1600mah hump pack for the XL. I ended up paying like $6 for it plus another $6 for shipping. I wanted a bigger one but I figure I can still keep the 1200mah in my tool box for a spare if I need it one day. The wierd thing is I noticed a big increase in power to the steering servo. Both batteries charged to about the same voltage so I didn't think I would notice anything different but right away my battery level indicator was not lighting up like it used to under load. I have a voltwatch indicator with a series of leds and on it and with the stock hump pack it would show one led lit with no load but when I would turn the wheels or brake several of the leds under the highest would light up with the drain in voltage. Now it just stays on one led and only the one under it barely lights up like there is way less strain on the battery. Also it turns the wheels on the floor in my kitchen no problem, at a standstill, and they return to center on there own. The servo never had the power to do that before without the truck rolling forward. Anybody else ever experience this with a simple battery change? Was my stock pack just a crappy one? I get good run times and everything with it so I just thought that was the way it was supposed to be, but now it is like I have way more juice to everything it's wierd lol. I know they don't really rate these like they do with LiPo's but could my new pack have a higher discharge rate for some reason? Or maybe a lower IR?

sounds like your 1200 could have a bojanky cell or somethin.

big question is what charger do you have/use?

If it had a bad cell would it still charge up to a good voltage though? I use a Thunder AC6 charger I got from Xheli. It is a very cheap charger but is very good for the price. Has all the bells and whistles, and does all the different battery types you typically see in RC. It does a great job of balancing my LiPo's and I have heard nothing but good things about them. The only drawback I see is if your running electric MT's is that it can only charge up to 5 amps and you can only charge one battery at a time. my heli batteries are only 2200mah and the batteries for the blitz's are 3000mah NiMH for now so I don't need anything more powerful yet.

mike where do you have your battery mounted? In the radio box? If you don't mind mounting one to your shock tower id be willing to send you one just to hear your opinion on what you think about it. I think i currently have about 5 built and only have used 2.

prolly not, but i only ask about the charger as a way of being sure you were getting 6v or better charge on each pack. but it sounds like you can tell based on the charger your using.

so that eliminates that theory.

Yeah they charge to almost the same voltage. I don't remember what it was exactly but it was like mid to high 7 volt range. I remember thinking at the time that they were the same though.

Hyp, I PM'd you my addy before do you still have it? If so I would would love to test one out for ya lol.

Sweet I'll do that. Thanks man.

PM sent let me know if you got it. Yeah it shows in my "sent messages" that I pm'd it to you before. Probably just didn't make it through for some reason.
