Well, I don't even know where to begin with trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my truck.
I took it out today for the first time since a few tanks over Memorial Day weekend, and I could barely get the thing started. Once I did manage to get it started, it wouldn't stay running for more than a couple minutes without dying. Usually I would just give it some throttle while it was on the stand, then I would hit the brakes, and it would immediately die on me.
I did manage to get it to run long enough to get a few laps in through the parking lot, but literally by the time I would bring it over, then bend down to grab my temp gauge, it would shut off.
All my measurements never got a single temperature over 145*. Obviously, once it's had time to warm up, it should get much hotter than this, but even letting it run on the stand for 2 or 3 minutes would not put the temperature over 145*.
This made me think it was running too rich - I have always run it on the rich side, but, if I leaned it out even 1/4 turn, it wouldn't start, acting like it was starved for fuel.
Then when I would richen it back up, it would bog down when I tried to give it gas, and if I kept on the throttle it would power through and give copious smoke at WoT, but then usually it would shut off as soon as I hit the brakes again. Is it possible that maybe I just need to lean it even more?
I have never had any real problems keeping it running once it was started and warmed up, and it ran with no problem the last time I drove it, but the same settings today (very similar conditions) were not even close.
And naturally, I tried to get some videos with my Blackberry (which is REALLY hard to do when there is only one person there), but those are currently not working for some reason. I will try to get them up.
In summary - when I could get it started (I usually had to blip the throttle with the igniter on and the roto-start spinning to get it to fire up), it never stayed running for long.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated, I am at my wit's end with this thing. Thanks.
