I have seen that on dirty jobs to,those are some crazy guy alot bigger then me to,that fish whould eat me
 
This thread reminded me of the storys I heard growing up in St Louis MOalong the Mississippi river. the rumor varies but is basically of catfish growing large enough to swallow a man. Usually it goes something like,

"There are catfish at the base of the dam big enough to swallow a man whole! Divers inspecting the dam saw them and swore they'd never go down again."
I found this on the Missouri conservationist site http://mdc.mo.gov/conmag/2005/04/30.htm

I have heard that one and that divers had been eaten by these monsterous fish, It is a huge river, I used to jet ski on it and it gets you thinking, that's for sure, the fact that you can't see more than a foot through the water doesnt help either..

the pic looks ike it is a fake to me but it is really hard to tell cause it is so old, the guy has a suit on but I figure if there is a camera there in that era he is probably a reporter or the like.???
 
I know cat fish love to try to take a bite out of you if you come into their territory. I have never seen a catfish that big though.

Catfish like those live in holes under the water and those guys shove their arms in the hole in hopes the catfish will grab on like its a big worm, when they do they pull them out. Some good o`l boys call this noodeling.

If it was up to me a lil C4 on a brick would be more fun..........BOOM!!!!!
