I have had my savage for a while now and never heard it shift or noticed it change gears. I have messed with the second screw inside the transmission and still nothing? What could be wrong everything in transmission looks brand new. Or does any body know how many turns out of the screw? Thanks

3 and a half to 4 turns out. If it never did... You may want to check the clutch is facing the right way

Hey! howz it going w/shift prob? My savvy was having trouble too, but upon further CSI investagtion I took the gear dr, out to c what the hang up was and pulled off the clutch and noticed that the pin that is suppose to come out when spinning was slightly bent to one side. Now heres the fun of it,you can possibly try to c if you can work it to wear its not bent, but beware that the metal is very brittle. becuz it will break. so becarefull if you do that. or another option is to buzz HPI and c if they'll send you another since this is a manufactures defect.Hopefully this helps ya cuz now my truck is shifting now. since it wasnt before 🙂

1st thing to do is make sure your slipper is nice and tight, then start playing with the screw. Make sure you're adjusting the right one too.

Slipper clutch is very tight. But i cant mess with it for a little while because my motor isn't broken in yet. Bugz if it still wont work ill try that when if i do it i have to take apart the thing were the screw goes into?

Ok I'm confused..... your motor isnt broke in yet... that is probably the main reason your not shifting not loose enough yet to create enough rpms for the paw to come out and engage 2nd gear

Ok I am confused: Post 1 says you have had your savage for a while and you never heard it shift. the quoted post below says the motor is not broken in yet.

^^^^Which motor is this, the LRP or the K4.6??^^^^

VVVV Now if I understand this correctly from post #10: VVVV
No before i had the k4.6 in it just got the lrp when i had the k in it would not shift,

you now have the lrp in the truck

So my question is, does the tranny shift with the LRP in and was the K4.6 block break in complete prior to discovering the tranny shift problem .

One way or the other if your not at full tune you cant tune a tranny. So unless your mill is ready to be tuned to full output don't worry about the tranny. You touch it you'll just make it worse...

Yes i had the K4.6 for about a year then it broke right after i posted this thread. Then i got the Lrp it's in the truck now and has to be broken in sorry guys

high, sorry I'm confused as well I was just responding to freddy's Q.
I thought he had a savvy tranny shift prob.Anyhow I hope hr finds the right path to his question.🙂

I like the 3 speed. harder to tune but if you know what your doing you truck will out accelerate a 2 speed. Add hi speed third gear and it will be faster than the two speed. Not faster out of the box BTW...

But to tune the second gear or third i forget. Do you have to take apart the transmission to get to it? Also what truck should i get it out of?
