I am going to be buying a new humpback soon, my 1400mah doesn't hold a full charge anymore. What is everyone using or recommend? How long of runtimes with your setup do you get without recharging?

I get forever and a day out of my Venom Racing 1600Mah. One real key point, upon first charge, charge it about twice the normal time, and use a wall charger. Don't quick charge a NiMH hum pack for it's first charge. The cells will get max use of their cells if you charge them slow and with low power. I've noticed this over time with NiMH batteries of all types.

Other good ones to look into:

Ofna 1600mAh
Duratrax I believe makes a nice 1600mAh
HPI makes a 1600mAh (my friend has one now, and it lasts just as long as my venom.

The best idea; find a 1600mAh. Depending on the mAh amount, the longer your charge will last. I really have noticed the difference on a 1200 from my 1600 as well. The 1600 is just the better bet. Also, just for your knowledge, I get about a half gallon of run time with my savage and my 1600mAh hump. 🙂

I have been running one of these packs for 2 years and the other for over a year and they still hold a charge like a champ and last me all day with no worries.

I had to recently buy some lipos from Maxamps for a different model. But I also on impulse bought their 1600mah receiver pack. I wish I know there was a 2.6 amp pack out there for $30. Good find guys.

I run 4-1400 mAh 5 Cell 6V NiMH humps in my Basher savage, Buggy, T-Maxx, Jato. I run the stock pack that came in my Baja. Then I run 2-200 mAh 2 Cell LiPo humps by Team Losi in my racer savy and in my Truggy. I Run LiPo in all of my Electric stuff.

i got two hpi 2000mah in both my savys and love them plus they are like 25 bucks and i get two day of run time out of them and just use a wall charger and charge them overnight

Well, got to talking to a guy at my LHS. Was telling him that I found a 2600 mah pack on the internet for $30. He said that is not true! those mini sub-c's can only hold at most 1.6 amps (1600 for those that like mah). I told him I didn't know what size battery. Then he told me if they are using AA size batteries to make the pack, then build one! It will be cheaper then that. Got back here to find out, yes, it is AA. So I'm going to make a pack, and see if it is going to be cheaper. If it's cheaper by 10%, I will make a thread showing you all how to make one.

Of course you will need a soldering iron.

This is the one I'm running in two of my trucks and have had no issues at all. I like the charging lead too!
