theres going to be like 5 posts to this, and I'm not exactly done.

So this last week i decided that i want to build a eletric kit. I really like fords, so i decided to go with the Tamiya High lift Kit. i picked it up of dabay for $250 Shipped. I went to the Hobby Shop today to pick up a Novak Rooster Crawler ESC, Hitec 645MG servo for steering and a standard torque JR servo for the Shifting. The Remote is a Futaba T3PM 2.4GHZ FAAST.

i will be throwing pics up throughout the day.

Is it a crawler? My next project is going to be a rock crawler. It's going to be a Clod Buster or tlt, I'm thinking about a clod more, with a Rockbull chassis. Well anyways, looks nice.

it has gone together so easily. i only had a problem with the trans case. but i had to take it apart anyways cus i buggered up a part. other than that, the hardest part has been taking the receiver out of the savvy to assemble this

Will a chevy body fit on that thing or will it forever be mediocre at best !! LOL.. nice build pics good luck. :resp:

I didn't see that before, but it is a kit? What kit is that? I was thinking it was something custom that you are building. Most rock crawlers out right now, except the Axial's AX10 Scorpion are all really custom type models. They take very little parts from the base model, and use nothing but custom parts to finish the model. I know with the Clod Buster base Rock Crawlers, there are loads of chassises to choose from.

I'm most likely to go all the way with my rock crawler, 4 channel radio, 2 esc, crab crawling freak machine!

Really sweet dread! You're doing a great job bud! I can't wait to see it finished.. even if it has a ford body on it. It's just plastic anywho :p

But I really would like a crawler, I think it'd be fun to run one down at Salt Run. :) There's some awesome rock piles down there that'd be slick to run one on!

alrighty guys. it runs, doesnt get very good traction, but have the suspension set to meduim. i didnt even put a dent in the batter because when i was trying to "crawl" over the toe of my boot and turn at the same time (I'm dumb) i broke the ring that goes around the servo. and unfortunatly, i have to oder the part.

if you guys can lead me towards aluminum parts for this thing, i would greatly appreciate it.

well i finally drove it today, ran a 3000mah NiMH batt through it, and it goes. i have to get the tx set up to shift from first to second to third. all it takes is a miking of the third channel. ill keep this thread updated with what i think of it.

What a cool rig, Dread. I have always liked those kind of Tamiyas ever since the old Bruiser kits were out way back in the day. Nothing says "scale" like tiny leaf springs!
