Welding vs. brazing

I wanted to get some opinions from some of the folks on here that custom fabricate their own stuff.
I am wanting to start experimenting with roll cages and crawler frames.
Will brazing stainless rod together hold anywhere near as well as welding it?
I am trying to figure out if I want to go get a new map gas setup, or a small 110v mig welder.
I am under the impression that brazing the rods together will be easier than welding it. Does anyone agree/disagree?
I really need input on this.

Sweet, that was a very informative article, and answered my question very nicely.
After reading that, I will take away from it that brazing is surely the way I need to go to do what I am wanting.
