Waterproofing a MMM?

I have seen/heard commemts about using CorrosionX to waterproof the MMM, and how to tear down the Castle 2200 and replace the bearings with sealed ones to mimimize bearing rust and debris. Anyone ever do this? Any luck? I've been inspired by the muddin post to try to think this through...
