Twin-engine projects are really cool, different, and rather jaw-dropping....but they can also be a major pain in the butt, expensive, and frustrating.

Rather than spending $250 on a kit and another $200+ for two new engines, I'd recommend buying one quality big-block and a few hop-ups and have fun without all the frustration.

i have got 2 working k4.6 and one is in the sav and the other is just sitting on the shelf geting old thats why i was thinking of buying the conversion kit

I agree with Doesgo, the twin engine is to much work and not sure it would be worth the frustarations. I know I sure don't have the patience to do a twin engine.

Its a pita to tune both engines. You have more time in tunning every time you want to run more fuel issues, more fuel consumption more weight higher so your CG is higher. You will also break more stuff as its to much power and you will never get it to the ground. I don't see this being any better at all over a stronger engine other than it weighs more and is more BLING!

if you got it and feel like doing it more power to ya, you don't need a kit just build it urself. just make a new engine plate and such that is wider and new tvp's to allow the fitment of 2 engines

marvin on savage central did 2 engines sideways was a good idea and he didnt haver to mod much just mak a custom engine mount

That kit looks like there is only one fuel tank, and looks like only a 125cc if so you will only have like 6-8 min. run time, wish I knew what kit mine was so I could tell you whara to get it at, it has a twin tank each is probably 125cc +

i think i might just save up to buy my self a new engine what would u guys say is the most powerfull engine on the market at the mo

you guys convinced me not to buy it lol

If you've already got one Savage and two usable engines, why spend the twin-engine kit money on a Savage SS 4.6 kit without engine (HPI #883)? That way if you're out bashing and one breaks, you've got a backup!

I'm with doesgo. I love having 2 even though ones set up for bashing and the other for racing I still bring both just in case.

If you want one of the best engine go Novarossi like 526. I have noexperience with them but they are supposably one of the best.

sorry what i meant is i have got one savage and one spare k4.6

What he meant was to just buy a whole other savage. They make a kit version that doesn't come with the motor or elec. Basically, a roller chassis. Or you could do a slow build of another savage using all aftermarket products and build it they way you want it. Like TVP's, shocks, shock towers, diff housings, diffs, trans, arms, etc. etc. etc. That's what I plan on doin over the next year.

twin engines are really cool for shock value, until you try and tune both and run them consistently. With motors and pipes making so much power, 1 is more than enough. I have heard very good things about LRP powerplants. If $$ is no object, go for th gusto, but I have heard many frustrating stories about twin engine set ups. 1 great motor w/ pipe and proper gearing will rock!! IMO
