Is there a way to set the adjustments of the turnbuckles perfectly? I have a hard time with the front and back settings, just cannot get them right.

Is there any kind of tool or method of adjusting these?

thanks for any help

You could try ti put some small brads in a board at the proper lengths for the eye holes to slip over. at least that may give you some cosistancy in lengths. Just a thought.

ok i have a "newbie" question lol how do u adjust the turnbuckles anyway? i know u have to take it off, well atleast i think u do!! any help would be appreciated as when my front tires are centered one points off to the side!!

thats the problem I have, I adjusted them right when I had them off but still they weren't right. Probably I should remove all of them and do it again, by now all of my figgiting with them probably has them all messed up.

thanks

its to bad that there even on my truck as i don't really have a need to adjust it as i don't race or anything would rather it just stay at one position then i wouldnt have to worry about it!!

I don't think minemove, I just don't think Ive ever had it right, I used both a metric scale and also lined them up with the pic in the instruction manual. even then they just don't look right at times, I have been trying to get to top speed with the sensor I have to see what it will get up to and t gets so shakey up around 30mph I think it is because the alignment is off. I know they make a tool for adjusting camber and I have seen tools for adjusting toe-in, I think this is what I am looking for but for 1/8th scale http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEU91&P=7 I guess a tabl square would help.

I am just going to try readjusting them to hpi's specs.

mine probabally wouldnt move either but i bounced the one front tire of a car tire in the parking lot!! it wasnt full speed or anything and nothings bent or broke but I'm thinking maybe it just "banged" it out of adjustment if thats possible

If you access to a caliper, that will make setting them to the right specs easier. That's what I do. If you have a Harbor Freight near you, I got mine there for like 15 bucks and it goes up to 8 in. Just my 2 cents to help you out.

i myself am in canada so I'm not sure harbor freight is even in canada lol but yes the caliper idea would work!! those toe in and camber adjustment "thingy's" u can buy arent that expensive either maybe i'll look into those

Yeap, I need one around here anyway. I will see if I can't talk a buddy out of one of his old one's.

Is there a way to adjust them while on the savage? I am thinking something is off making the default length not work... Just don't know or look like anything is off. one of my trucks seems good, but the ss it just been a b*&$% I will get a calibur and try it though.

thanks.

It is possible to adjust them on the truck, it's just a little difficult. It would be easier to take them off and adjust them. If you leave them on and try adjusting them that way, they will usually pop off the ball cups they rotate on. It at least always happens to me.

I had the same problem going RIGHT and I used a good set of dial calipers and took the drawing from my book and have them set to per hpi 44mm in the front and 44.5mm in the rear I’m hoping that the truck will go some what straight now.
(1"=25mm 2"=50mm and so on.)
