Now i know all engines are different but I'm starting to run out of money tuning my truck i cant seem to get it to have its optimal performance. all i would like is for quick acceleration (not wheelies) and high top speed ive adjusted the high speed and i feel like I'm not getting the most out of my truck. its hard for me to run my truck and tune it 1 because of the weather here right now (minot North dakota aka -23 and snowy) My hands go numb before i can really tune it properly and i cant see very well cuz of work keeping me all days of the week till its dark out.

Is there anyone who could assist me with this like where they have their adjustment screws I currently am running with stock savage x tires a 47t sg and a 19t cb. nothing customized at all right now just looking to have something to run around after work and race my friend who is also new and with the same truck.

much appreciated

Every motor is going to be diffrent. There is a good write up by purenitro stickyed to the top of the engine tuning thread.

Like Pope stated every motor tunes differently and altitude, temp, humidity all affect how it tunes. If you are having issues tuning it I suggest seeing our engine section and checking some of the stickies out at the top which are very helpfully for how to tune.

If your on a stock length chassis and the engine is tuned proper it will easily pull wheelies. If running proper you cannot adjust the motor to not pull wheelies but to run high speeds. Its basically all or none unless you gear it very close to 1:1 or go extended. I'm not sure if you are trying to eliminate your wheelies and just gain speed, due to your comment "(not wheelies)".

its only teens here and Ive tuned for years but I'm having issues too!! Keep it on the fat side and use a temp gun in this cold. Take some tin foil and wrap half the head. temp it often and don't push it too hard. If she gets hot peal off some foil.

Tuning in cold is not simple at all. keep her over 200 and under 270. That is what will keep you having a motor in spring. Winter and 90+ summer days is the only time I keep a temp gun on me... your fighting the weather more then yourself...

I don't think he meant he was trying to eliminate wheelies but was willing to sacrifice them to get his truck running right. I felt the same way when I was having trouble getting the k5.9 just right. I quit worrying about wheelies, all I wanted to do was to keep it from stalling when I let off the throttle from high rpms LOL. I'm sure if his truck ran good AND did wheelies he would be perfectly happy.

how many gallons are run threw the mill?,and as bank said run it on the fat side do to the dense air/cold and also the fuel will be cold enough that it starts to thicken up almost like diesel do to the fuel has the oil in it so it will want to move slower threw the fuel lines thus making it harder to tune as well.

if its -23 out youre never gonna get a good tune. with a 19t cb youre not gonna get much bottom end either
