Can you fry your digital servos if you have your tx set to analog?

No. You have to run all analog if one of your servos is non-digital.

I fitted my 645mg which worked fine on steering for some time onto my throttle, at the same time i fitted a 2.4ghz system (DX2) and a digi steer servo, 5mins into the first run on this set-up my 645mg throttle servo packed up.....

Could this be because non digi 645 servo wasnt compatible with the 2.4ghz digi system?

As far as i know i cant switch between digital and analogue modes on my Tx and theres no mention of how to do so in the manual, iv got a digi servo to replace it now but I'm curious as to the cause of the 645mg failiure.

If the 645 was not digital and you were running your Tx in digital mode, you'll fry the non-digital servo. It'll act twitchy and last about 10-15 minutes.

I am not sure about the DX2, but on Futaba's HRS is digital mode and PPM is analog mode.

Digital mode also allows you to set the failsafe once and forget it. Analog has to be set each time.

Thanks, thats solved my mystery, yea the 645 was non digital.

Il have to look into that on my Tx, I'm sure theres no option to switch between modes, doesnt matter now though as i have both digital servos, just glad i bought a digital servo to replace the 645 otherwise i would have done the same thing over again lol :duh:

I have the Spektrum DX3.0 and it doesnt say anything about mixing analog and digital servos and I don't see any settings to change for using either type.
Does anyone know more about this?

Thats the thing. No where in the manual does it mention anything about servo types. I emailed tech support now just waiting on a response.

Same as my DX2 manual, doesnt mention anywhere about settings for analogue or digital servos, or that only digital servos can be used with it.

Il be interested to hear what tech support says.

I ran a dx2 for the past year, 6 months of which I was running a hitec 5955tg digital steering servo and an analog throttle servo and never had any issues.

I hope there wont be any issues. I just picked up a JR 9100T that Ill be installing along with my standard servos.
