throttle dead band set up

wat is a good setting for the throttle servo dead band on the speky tx setup? whe my truck is at a fair distance away from me it seems like there is a rather large delay between the input on the trigger and the response with the servo its-self. but whe the truck is close there isnt and delay between the 2.
