Hi everybody,

Been out for a bash this afternoon and i'm well impressed with the new handling skills of my lowered truck but after a couple of small jumps it all went wrong!

Damage Report!

When i switch the Rx & Tx on the steering servo goes mad and makes some awful clicks and whirs! It doesn't do if the Tx is off though. Also the wheels just flop about with no resistance. Is my diagnosis correct?

If so i have a 2 inch wider track than a stock savvy 3.5 and my truck is lowered does this mean i need a more powerful servo than stock? Any suggestions?

sounds like that sf-2 is toast and yes a more powerful servo is the best fix for you there are many of them out there, I like HI-TEC they do good for me

That is a powerhouse compared to the SF-2. I'd be running that servo as well if I had the dough. I'm running the SF-5 still but have had good luck with it.

Luke, I'm the first version of that exact servo (mine is the HS5955TG). Both are exactly the same exept that the one that you linked has updated circuitry for use with Hitec's servo programmer (which isn't really needed). Asides from that, they are both the same. Speed and torque are exactlt the same numbers and same gear set up. I've been using mine for the last almost 3 yrs and it's still runnin strong. And I beat the crap out of my truck. Hope this helps with your desicion makeing.

Nice one chees guy's sounds like its the way forward! The shop i will be buying from has both versions of the servo and they are the same price. May well go witht the tried and tested though...

I'd say if they have both of them and they are the same price, just get the newer one. It'll still perform as good as the older version.
