The tale of three builds.

Well I have three more savages to build by spring.

1. The flm bash savage. Flm ext TVP's w/ mugan/cen midtank. It was going to powered by my Picco .26 but that has a bad main bearing so I don't know yet.

2. Project unlimited puller. Why may you ask. It is only a temp build for the WF. Details to follow.

3. Project savage .25. I am putting together the old savage .25 for the wife. She wants to run it at the WF's. Lets just hope the motor still runs after my self mod.

I have collected all that I could for him. He sold off his slash so he could buy the parts to finish getting what he needed. I am droping off everything I have to him on sunday. He wants to build it himself to learn about it as he goes. Again thank you to everyone who helped with that project.

Well i think its great what you did Alex, and even better that the kid wants to build it himself to learn the in's and out's of his new truck. Also, more details on these 3 new builds, give us some insight on what you have in mind for each.

As for my builds I don't know what I am going to do with the puller yet. My buddy is going to pick up his welder and we are going to sit down and start hammering out some ideas literly. I have to find a motor to power it though I want to run a .28 and it is starting to look like I am going to need a new motor for the basher so I may just pick up a stock picco .28 for that and use it for the puller at the WF.

The Basher is just because I have all of the stuff to build it so why not. Just going to order some stuff off of ebay so that the drivetrain on the racer and the basher are the same. Less parts I have to keep in stock in the end.

The Stock .25 is because the wife is still mad at me for all the changes I have done to it. and lets be honest there isn't a single part left on my truck that came off of it so I am just going to put it together for her to run and as a loaner truck that I can let friends drive if they want to try it out.

wouldn't a .30-.36 be better for a puller cause they have some pretty good torque and you don't really need top end for pulling

Maybe but i don't want to buy a motor that will be useless to me After the event because I am only building it for the wf only. Plus I want to do it with a 28just because

One question, wouldn't the FLM plates be better for a puller since they are a bit heavier than the CF ones, but are still LCG?

The truck is going to be built on a set of tvp's that me and my buddy cut out of some 1/4" inch plate steel.

These are plates made by me and my dad (Mowery Creations).. They are a little longer then robins plates. For the front and back driveshafts we use an XL rear driveshaft. My dad is the big block champion, just saying how good they are.

I have a set of stainless plates you could get for cheap, they have KTM cut into them but the guy who wanted them disappeared from the nitro world.

I just talked to my dad and he said

That he will sell the savage xxl unlimited pulling chassis plates 4.0mm thick and the drive shafts throttle/brake linkages and the dual motor 5 1/2mm motor plate

And it will come ready to bolt on.
