The 4 hole version is just an indication of the old case design. It's the only "outside" factory to verify new vs. old case.
If you have a 4 hole cased unit you should send it in for an update/upgrade. The charge is $40 if it's outside of warranty. This will get you any and all updates, freshen up wires as needed and renew your warranty to the factor 120 days.
