Alright...I recall people mentioning some sweet deals they got from people cleaning out their garages, etc (specifically someone swapped a case of beer for an RC boat, and Jester's apartment maintenance guy just gave him one that he had found in the dumpster or something??)

anyway, a buddy of mine at work used to fly RC planes, and a couple of months ago, offered to sell me everything he had for $100 (sweet enough deal considering how much stuff I ended up with, but I didn't have the money)...I didn't give it another thought...

well, he called me at work tonight (we work different shifts) and asked if I was still interested, which of course, I was, although still didn't have much in the way of spare money (just bought a mini-mill for my MANY MANY projects)...he said if I bought him a 30 pack of Miller Lite or Keystone light, I could have the lot!!! He didn't even want good beer!!! At least not what I consider good beer...LOL!! I felt a little guilty, so I have a surprise for him tomorrow...two 30-packs instead of one!!! He said he was never going to get around to flying them again, and they were just getting damaged in his garage, so...I scored!!:FarleyParty: He figured that even if all I do is nose dive them straight into the ground, that at least someone would be having some fun with them...LOL

I will get pictures of everything included tomorrow when there's light, but here's a quick list off the top of my head of everything included:

3 complete planes...2 4-channel controllers...1 6-channel controller, 2 spare motors, somewhere close to a dozen spare props, power center, starter, tools, fuel pump, chargers, and a big pit-box to carry all the extras in...

and the planes aren't cheapies either...well, 2 are totally sweet, and the other is, well....interesting (he called it ugly...LOL) apparently it was built from scratch by some kid, and it's mostly assembled with elmer's glue and dowels and stuff...

anyway, all in all, I got a hellofa deal for $35 worth of beer...:motorcycle:

I'll shut up now, and get pictures posted up tomorrow...:jamout:

That's an awesome deal bud! Sounds like a good lot of aircraft so far. Can't wait to see the pictures! 🙂

And btw, love that avatar crash! 🙂

man i would love to find a deal like that!! i've always wanted to try the rc planes but found out quickly the stuff needed to fly them is fairly expensive so never got into it!! but cant wait to see the pics!!!

$35 for 2 packs of Keystone Light? Man, you got housed! I remember at school I used to walk across the street to the gas station with a ten-spot and a single and come back with a cold 30 pack of Stones and some change!

But, even if you overpaid for dirt beer, still sounds like quite a deal 😀

here are the ppromised pics!!

yeah, it wasn't a super price for the beer, but it was midnight...not the best time to go shopping around for the best price :resp:

absolutely everything I got was (and is) covered in drywall dust from his last renovation, but this gives you an idea anyway...

first up...the "ugly plane" or the "peace plane"...this is the one he suggested I learn on, both because it's a bit sturdier than the others, and it's already ugly, so wadding it up won't really hurt the looks much...plus it came with a dozen replacement props:

next one is the biggest, with a wingspan of 6 feet!!! and pontoon floats!!! he included the parts to make it usable on land as well:

third up is the sportiest of the lot, and the one he said to wait 'til I've flown for a bit before attempting to fly this one:
