hay guys i have a prob. with my savy it don't do wheeles i have a k5.9 engine a 3 speed transmission and installed a 47 tooth supergear with a 16 tooth clutch bell but it do boke it 9 times so i put a 52 tooth supergear and a 16 tooth clutch bell after that it hardly do a wheele but it still fast so what is the perfect clutch bell that makes it do wheeles again ???????????
or what is the perfect supergear and clutch bell that can stay a long time and make it do wheeles again ???????????

I had a 4.6 with 18/49 and 3 speed and that'd pull the front end up no worries...Is your engine in tune?

The smaller the clutch bell, slower but easier wheelies;
Conversely, smaller spur gives more speed. Gear ratio's are driven gear / driving gear.

My 18/49 (so 49 divided by 18) gives a gear ratio of 2.722:1. Basically One turn of the spur gear needs 2.722 turns of the clutch bell.
16/47 gives 2.938:1
Your 16/52 gives 3.250:1, which should make it wheeley better...

Basically the higher the gear ratio, the easier wheelies should be, due to torque multiplication, for example in a real car, first is something like 2.7:1, fourth is generally direct drive at 1:1 (hence why dyno runs are usually one in 4th) and overdrive grears have a torque reduction (0.6:1) Now I know there's ratio's of the transmission and diffs to take into account for final gear ratios, but I'm kepeing it simple!!! 😛

the engine is tuned very good but at the last few days my engine was getting turned off and stuck because of sum dirt that entered it i have opend it and the inside shaft was scratched the pistn also was scratched so i have to sand it a littel and it works again i don't know if this thing will make it weaker than it was?????????????
if you know any thing about this pleas tell me
and i will try with tuning it again
thanx for the advise darkshine

Yes, Dirt will kill these engines. First off if the front large part on the crank has been damaged at all the front end will leak.

also if you have sanded on the piston or the walls are scuffed at all this will be a drastic los in power. These motors do not run rings like your car engine, they rely on pinch in the sleeve to seal between crankcase and combustion chamber.

I hope you have good luck with it otherwise you may be out for a new motor. You can take advantage of the HPI replacement stuff which you would have to contact them for otherwise a few recommended engines are the LRP or the Picco P3 best bang for the buck. They will also outperform/outlast the 5.9 hands down. The Picco is a tad better but if your new to tuning the LRP should stand out.

i think i can change the engine inside parts (pistn.......) from a crashed xl i think it will work will it??????

If the piston is shot, it's pretty certain the sleeve is shot too, so the sleeve will need doing idelly as well, as any scratches in the sleeve will result in blow by, where the piston compresses the air/fuel mixture, but it blows-by the piston back in to the lower part of the crankcase due to the scratches.

OMG, that made me cringe when I read about the sandpaper farmawi. Nitro engines and dirt (or sandpaper) don't mix :duh: If your not sure about what you're doing please don't be afraid to ask first. It doesn't matter what it is or how simple you might think it is, you just have to ask. There are some great guys on here, and someone will always help you out. :jamout:

how did you get dirt inside your engine? make sure you keep your air filter on and zip tied to your carb. if you take your glow plug out for inspection or to change it make sure you clean your cooling head and the area around your plug. taking good care of your expensive equipment will ensure long life and $$ saved on parts. that piston and sleeve is going to be expensive.

oh the dirt..........
it do enter the engine from the roto starter i don't know how but the screws has been in two peaces while I'm bashing is that a normal thing????
i don't know but i'll check all the screws evry time.
thanx for helping guys
