I was just wondering..

My GF wants to buy me a present for my SS and she noticed that I've been reading into a supercharger for my engine. I was just wondering if anyone has anything to say about these, if its worth the money or if it will just destroy my truck completely

Here is the link to the one she wants to get me:

Of course (if you all say its fine) I'll need a wheelie bar seeing as I have a hard time keeping it on four wheels already..

And I'm still having a hard time figuring out the best way to post pics on the forum without breaking any of the rules.. If someone could give me advice on that I'd also really appreciate it

well i've never used one but for the most part i've heard there not worth the money and actually shorten the life of the engine, maybe talk with purenitro here at the forum about them he's a pro engine modder and knows pretty much everything about nitro engines,he wont steer you wrong.....

I'm soon to buy a modded engine from purenitro, from what ive seen in videos these modded engines are FAST, the supercharger will shorten your engines life and when it does u will wish you had got a modded engine even if they are a little extra money, however he may even mod your existing engine. =]

Hey Bro, Good to see new members getting & adding some info to the forum.

the supercharger topic has come up several times since ive been here. Ive never used a supercharger (or seen one in person)and i'll dare to say that most people that hit this thread have never seen one or actually used one either.

if i remember correctly, there is a possibility that purenitro played with one a little, but I'm sure he'll chime & and say either way.

take a look at this thread here https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13219&highlight=supercharger

over the years, ive talked to thousands of different people and there is (perhaps & I'm not sure) one person has actually tried a supercharger. However, hundreds have run a modded mill (myself included) with huge success and fun.

based on that, the only thing i can tell you is if you wanna play around with it just to see whats up & give it a shot, then go for it and post up your findings & let us know how you make out. if your lookin for a sure way to add tons of 'jam' to your savage, then throw another $80 or so at the price of the s/c & buy a ercm p8 (check out tominator06's vids).

I have one Freddy. Came with one of my used trucks I bought off craigslist. It was a tuning nightmare. I finally have up. I don't know if there's actually a tuning sweet spot or not. If there is it has to be so small I couldn't hit it. Took it off ran 2 gallons through the mill before it was done. According to the guy I got the truck from be only ran abou a gallon and a half through the mill. So don't know if he was full of it or if it really killed it that fast. Either way. Wasn't fun trying to tune it. pita for suRe.

ok this is great. lyle when you get a computer (or if you have any pics i could post for ya) would you mind doing a review for the review section?
it would be a great thing to be able to link peeps to 😉.

Abaslutely Freddy. Sounds like it might be a good thread to tell ppl exactly how they perform. Had slot of top end but had to slam on the breaks just to get the mill back down to idleinh rpms. Its just a major pain to tune. Robin might had better luck with it. But IMO it would not be good for someone that can't tune a mill good. I can tune a mill. But that charger was a pita. Never found the sweet spot. As soon as I get the pc. Ill post pictures of it. I still have it. In my parts box lol. And ill do a write up on it. I'm by far no expert on it. But for the average Joe I can give my thoughts on it. I even tried saling it once and couldn't lol.

Ohhhh another thought. Ide stay away from the nos kits to. Never used one but seen one once. Its just the lil co2 cartridge forcing a burst of air into the mill. Leans it out. Don't know for sure but looks like a bad idea to me lol. Maybe someones tried them out and can do a report on them. Just a thought. Since this threads kinds along the same lines. Just a heads up.

i totally agree, maybe if more people that have had personal experience with them can comment it would be helpful as i've seen this topic come up several times now........i always wanted to try one myself but from everything i had heard i decided not to........

Haha that settles it, I'm just going to get the a new cooling head and exhaust cause the ones I have now are beat up and I want my machine to look nice - it performs more than I need right now so I wont screw with that. Thanks for the advice everyone

I will add this here for hopefully when someone else researches this topic blowers on 2 stroke mills just wont work . 4 stroke engine is a different story .
