No friend was hurt (at least, not much) during the filming of this video.

:jamout:

Oh I forgot, here are the corresponding photos from the bash session:

Thanks a lot man!

My friend is pretty good indeed, and what's more he was battling with manual focus on a Nikon D90 in the action sequences! Now that's something! Check out his DeviantArt profile, there are some very nice photos in there (no RC stuff apart from mine but still): http://confucius-zero.deviantart.com/

I don't mean to hijack the thread but what cvds are you using.

+rep for tune & shiftpoints. video rocks hard. rockout

Thanks frddyj! Actually I am still stumbling with tuning, I can't seem to get a consistent feel (this may be due to some mid-tank lean although I have a good length of fuel tubing). I think the shift point is perfect, 1/4 turn left from stock.

I will be posting a video with some additional footage from that bashing session soon, as I have about 15-20 minutes worth of footage but only used about 2 for this video. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel if you'd like to see my upcoming videos including the one I just talked about: http://www.youtube.com/user/fortinmike

I also have some good ideas for future videos of the "same" style, those should be very nice as well! Now I only gotta convince my friend to come shooting again a few other *dozen* times lol! (ok maybe not that much)

Nice vids, editing & pictures.Loving the HD as well, ive just got a new hd cam(new vid coming real soon ;) ),you cant beat it :) .Have you watched the vid on an hd tv yet ?

Form, I love the vids! I went to your channel and found one that I don't think you have posted yet. That time lapse vid of your build is great! what a cool idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL4tplU8KXI Guys check it out really fun to watch.

Also I would like to know what camera your friend was using, both the still and vid if they are different. The stills you got are amazing.

Sweet video, the HD make a world of diff! Good luck with the tuning, buy the camera man a drink, awesome editing, nice to hear the truck and music, get the real feel of the experience! Happy Bashing!

Thanks, glad you liked it! You can subscribe to my channel if you want, I'll upload new videos once in a while so you should have plenty more to look at.

I've actually already posted the time lapse video in the forum: https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10851

Both the stills and the video were taken using a Nikon D90. The video was filmed with manual focus (no auto-focus for video on this cam) in 720p. The stills were taken with a night lens, max shutter speed and ISO maxed out to take still pics of the savage in flight. The ISO was brought up to 12000 (!) in Adobe Lightroom afterwards; there was not enough ambient light because of the sunset.

Thanks! I don't have an HDTV but I do have a pretty high res 22inch computer screen and a 1024x768 100" projector and it does look good indeed!

Thanks for the nice feedback! I'm trying to make it as interesting as possible to newcomers so I guess this vid could be something to show people if you want to push the hobby. I think the key to making a good video is to make it so anyone even those who are not into RC can like it. I have some much more interesting ideas for future videos, that should be fun!

Is it possible to see the footage where you crashed the truck into your camera man?

Yes it is!

As you'll see there isn't much swearin' afterwards, he stopped the video almost right away, but you can see the "savage effect" in the camera movement :p

Cool! :)

The camera we used to film this is a Nikon D90. In fact it's more of a photo camera than a video camera: there is no automatic focus and other useful video features are lacking. My friend did do an awesome job filming with it though!

Great video man, the music is a little crazy for me, but it works :)

Sidenote... where are all the "resize pictures please" posts at? I don't mind, they look good on the 22", but just sayin, haha.

I'm just bustin yo nuts man :) They look sweet on my screen. I love those pics too, wish I had a DSLR to get some with. Everyonce in a while I'll take a action shot with my digital camera, and it will just randomly come out the way I wanted, but without a manual focus I'm out of luck. Sometimes I can halfway push the button down and auto focus on something close or far then take a picture of something else to get the effect I want, but it is still a giant waste of time, haha.

yeah, just watched the vid again after guys bumped it....

you got this whole savage thing mastered in a very short time mike, great vid.
