I did a short video today, the truck is almost too fast already. as you probably already know the savage is not design to go much faster than 45

I don't know how fast its going but, its fast.

the power just burns the rear tires at launch. no need to worry about wheelis this thing just spinns the tires and goes sideways.

Just don't hit any speed bumps!:duh: That thing could be one mean touring car. Keep the pics coming with updates, looks great.

thanks.

Its gettn a 20 cb 47 spur as of now

unless there is a way to gear it even lower for more speed.

thanks for the tip crash, lol I may be stealing your idea........

I race mine at the hooters on road race and it handles good with 4 shocks but I may try that, let me know how it comes out.......

20/47 that should be a screamer, and not that I don't like your design but cant you find some shorter shocks, just think would make for a better ride and better adjustment:resp: but all in all it really looks good and keep the pic's coming :evilrocker:

I was glad to find that the stock shocks worked this way, My wife put me on a spending freeze, no rc parts!

if you REALLY want taller gearing for higher top end, I've discovered you can use a Revo spur gear if you modify it correctly (still haven't run it, of course, but I've done the modifications) how does a 33 tooth spur sound?!?! LOL

by the way, that looks pretty sweet!! lowest I've seen actually...might have to try it when I get around to building a street racer...

ok lets try it

what do you have to do to it to make it work?

Will I over rev th engine with too tall gear?

Lets just work on completing your other projects Komo .... lol

Cool looking crash.. can you find smaller shocks that will work ?

I'm tryn not to spend alot on this. so I improvised

It will be fast I'm useing my axial 28 RR spec 1

rear wheel drive only

2.35 gearing or better

road rage tires

2 speed trans, would like a three but not in the buget of $0

by the time you hit top revs with that gearing, I doubt you'll want to go much faster...we're talking over double the speed of say a 16/47 (20/33?? insane!!)

If I remember correctly, you need to open the thru hole up slightly (Savage spur shaft is beefier of course) then widen the cross pin slot a little (Savage = beefier again) and sand the fins off the back of the slipper plate...I think that was pretty much all...

as I mentioned, I still haven't ran mine, but it looks like it'll work just fine...the other factor is, since the spur is so much smaller, you have to watch how far your clutch bell teeth engage, or else you'll chew the slipper plate up with them...

Lets just work on completing your other projects Komo .... lol

that's actually a mod for the behemoth, that's already completed...just need to complete the REST of the damn truck...LOL

by the way, I think I picked my Revo clutch/spur assembly on ebay for around $12-ish...check with Nitronutzz...he may be able to hook you up...don't recall which seller I got mine from...

Hey crash that looks cool, needs some air bags now (lay frame) whats with the zip ties on the springs?

What purpose are the shocks for? slowing the uppward motion as you roll over an ant carcass? Looks sweet though I may look at my school Bus again.

ties

Hey crash that looks cool, needs some air bags now (lay frame) whats with the zip ties on the springs?

The zip ties were for another aplication where I was useing four shocks off road. The springs are doubled up two springs on one shock. It made it very stiff. It was a tempory fix so, I could get both trucks going that day.
For the street savy I will be takn the extra spring out.
:salute:

Now get some real LCG tvps like the FLM ones and you'll have like an inch clearance all around. Looks good.

An inch , I'm not takn it off road. lol

I'm scrappn the ground. lol

I did make some changes today to shock mounting.

I still have four shocks but, they are back in stock position.

I cut an inch or so off orange springs to get the ride hieght where I wanted it.

I'm still 3/4 inch all way round.

I hope to finish it tonite.

Hey Parker

I am still fine tuneing this setup. Today I discovered that the front shock position posed a problem. so , I went back to stock position with still only four shocks, and cut 1 inch off springs. I cant wait to test this thing, I got the spur and cb today.

Its sitting about 3/4 inch off ground, 2.35 gear ratio, rear wheel drive only.
Road rage 14 mm rims, axial 28 rr spec 1 , ect. lol:evilrocker:

OK ALMOST DONE, I will make a high speed video test today. I predict full speed turns, lol

this thing looks cool, I just hope there isnt any chipmunks crossing the road. they are gonners...lol

lhs had no 20cb so, I'm stuck with 47 spur 18 cb for today. 2.611111111111

It may still wheelie, lol o well

my goal is to wind it up with some really low gearing after todays test,

I may take komodo idea and fit a revo spur in it.

I may have to push it off the line but, top end would be sickkkkkkkkkk!

hey crash yhay truck looks good with the shell on it cant wait to see the vid

alright video is here go to my first post , soak in the great original pics and then watch this animal go. wow it was fun.
