Just recently picked up another savy and the stock receiver in the truck just went out today. The receiver pack and transmitter pack are fully charged and when i switched the receiver out with an old one i had it worked fine. Unfortunately at 25mph and without control the truck slammed into a large green trash can and knocked it over. No truck damage. My maxx would ahve been toast though. Sorry just venting. My failsafe even failed to work. I don't know what went on but when is hpi gonna get it together and give us a decent radio. They seriously need to take notes from losi at least their radios are decent.

hi again i tried the tranny on another old model it worked but the reverse switches did'nt so i have bought a net tranny and reciever that appears to have cured it although there is not a lot of reverse movement on the servo before it is pulling tight on the throttle linkage and as a result i have had to adjust the brake a lot on the linkage to get any effect anyone else come across this
also can i use my old crystals still my old standard tranny was 27mhz am
new is 40mhz am
any ideas would be great i have yet to start the engine on it !!!!!
:nutshot:

Damn you are not having a lot of luck right now. i thought 27mhz and 75mhz were the only ground frequencies allowed. does the radio have an adjustment to increase the throw of the servo arm. i know you don't want to spend anymore money necessary but look at the spectrum dx3 radio. the one i got came with to receivers, servos and the transmitter. no crystals synthetic and has multiple model memories and a lot of servo adjustment options. i spent 200 on it but it is well worth the cost not to worry about interference and crystals. get a 5 cell hump pack for it.it has a failsaif built into it also.

hm mine came complete but i aint used the servos no point the problem seems to be that when i push forward to brake the throttle linkage stops because carb is shut and this prevent the serv going much further

the problem is that is a 2 piece arm and when the throttle arm stops moving the brake arm should keep going a little bit more.

I would do an ofna throttle linkage mod to solve any linkage binding problems.

yeaut not very much h it does a bit but not really enough as i said i have had to adjust the brake linkage right up to get any brakes now there is no adjustment left

did you pull the arm to see if you are getting full travel of the servo?

pull the horn and see if the throttle arm moves easily and separately from the brake arm.

see with the throttle horn at full stop the brake arm should still move. the brake arm is the one hooked to the servo it has all the torque from the servo the throttle is a floater per say. it sounds like you are not getting enough juice to the servo. are you running the 4 AA or a 5 cell hump it makes a difference

4 aa i may have to get hump pack i will see how huch they are wife will kill me i already bought new tranny for the truck it is brand new never run yer lol

no what i mean is the brake horn attaches to the servo directly and ther throttle attaches to the top. if you move the throttle servo while holding the brake horn you do not hear the servo move if you do the same with the brake you hear the sevo gears rotate.
