Hi there,
New to nitro engines and have just been gifted what looks like an old Savage 25 with undisclosed problem(s).
The first thing I discovered is that the starter plate pin looks to have sheared leaving half in the starter plate and half in the crankshaft. Not sure when the pin spring is & as a newbie I'm not sure what I should be seeing.

Any help appreciated, do not hesitate if you require additional information.

Regards.
Josh

Looks as if that engine has had a pretty rough life. If it was me I'd pitch it and look into a lrp or picco for it.

I have spare pins and springs but if the engine is on its last leg with no compression, resistance is Futile
just buy a new powerplant

You'll just have to be careful not putting 2 large of a motor on it or you'll be replacing the drive train soon.

Not its not but not long ago when I got my first savage it was a 25. I sold it a long time ago and miss her so I got my hands on another one.
