will 18 48 be to high am on the beach alot but still want a bit of top end or go for a 16/17

If you are only on your 3rd run and stripped the spur, Id check the gear mesh. The screws holding the engine in place may have come loose.

i run it on the beach thats y think i got a stone in it so wana put some metal ones in

Only thing to consider is that the spur is the weak point. If something gets stuck in the gears its better to strip a $3 spur then break something more expensive. The steel spur will not be as forgiving if something gets caught in there. Did you check the slipper clutch and make sure its set properly?

Ic so your running probably like 17/47 or is the stock one different than that??

So your stock 17/47=2.764:1 and if you went with the RR gear Spur and bought a 18T CB your gearing would be 18/48=2.666:1 so you would loose a touch of torque but gain a bit of speed. The RR gear set is 16/48 which would be 3:1 so would be quite a bit slower but would flip on its lid on demand even easier. Personally Id go 18/48 if I went with the RR gears but I will stay with the stock spurs as they give a decent & cheap weak link.

Another thing to consider with a RR gear set or anyother steel/alu. spur is that if you don't have your mesh set correctly it will not only chew up your spur it will chew up your CB as well.

The 17/49=2.88:1 so yes it would give you some more power over stock but will be a touch slower. I ran it in my truck with my 4.1 and really liked it, It would work better with an engine with more power like you are running. The 52T you linked is going to be huge. if i remember right some people were complaining about them that you need to loctite the crap out of them to keep them to gather as the screws fall out. I have no personal experience with them though as I have always and will always run the plastic. If the mesh is set correctly and the heat doesnt get to extream they will last several gallons, I have ran up to 4 or so gallons on a single plastic gear.
